Would you like to know how I came to have arthritis in neck? Seven years old I was. I stood back and assessed the situation. I was walking on air after clearing a wired fence about 3 feet tall. However, I just had to go higher. So, now I tied a rope from one end of a post to the other end of a post hence making the height to clear about 3 and a half feet. I started off slow as a turtle, increased my speed and vaulted for the moon. Boy was I rudely awakened My neck caught the rope and I was launched like a canon ball back to the ground.
Being young and able to bounce back, I picked myself off the ground, dusted myself off and went about my business. Little did I know that years later I would pay for that costly mistake. In my leap for the moon I rashly lost the natural curve in my neck and developed straight neck or military neck leading to my problem, arthritis in the neck. This all happened about five decades ago.
When I was 30 years-old I was diagnosed with
whiplash, straight or military neck by a chiropractor. I was told by my chiropractor that there was no cure but he could stop the straight neck from getting any worse. He told me I could die by the time I was 60. Now when I became 58 years-old those infamous words that had agonized me for some 28 years finally came to the fore.
Recently, I began to have pain in my neck. When I would go to sleep at night it felt like I had needles in the back of my neck. In order to get relief I had to sleep on my back in a fixed position. Doing neck exercises seem to help somewhat. I even went back to a chiropractor. He took x-rays and saw spurs that had developed on the vertebrae of my neck and this was causing me to have arthritis. After giving me an adjustmentment he told me that he could not “heal me” only stop the progression of straight neck. After two treatments I felt that they were not doing me any good. His game plan was to give me two treatments a week for the first month, then one treatment per week the second month and thereafter he would give me a treatment per month.
I search the Internet high and low to find some miraculous cure for straight neck. None was to be found. However, I did find two web sites that talked about putting the curve back into the neck. I was blown away by one of them. Rather than going to the chiropractor twice a week for the first month, I opted to invest in a neck straightener device for the price of two visits to the chiropractor. By following directions and using this device everyday for a few minutes I was slowly but surely getting the curve back in my neck. But, more importantly, I was getting relief from the neck pain.
Now, the pain I had was torturous. I would moan and groan with heavy sighs throughout the day. I could not sleep at night. In reality, as mentioned earlier, I had to sleep in a fixed position on my back. It was impossible for me to sleep on either of my sides. After six months of using this device my pain decreased from a 10 to a 3. After a year my neck pain disappeared completely. I am still using the device 2 or 3 times a week to keep the neck pain from ever returning. If you have whiplash, stiff neck, straight neck or military neck please do yourself a favor and try this neck straightener device. In my case it stopped my arthritis in the neck and it is putting the natural curve back. Hooray, what a relief it is.
