The late great George Carlin once said, “There is no time”. When you say the word “now”, you meant “then” right? Because each time is fleeting. This conception that time or the idea of time is passing us by means we are slowly moving towards our end. Does it scare you? Or should it drive you to do better at what you do.
I brought up the idea of time because I know that many network marketers are not making any advances whatsoever because they “cannot find the time to devote to this business”. I have heard it many times before. Some people say that they are busy with their current day job or that they are occupied taking care after the kids.
I used to say that I was busy. But I learned later that I wasn’t really too busy to concentrate on this business. I was in fact not using my time well. I used to watch a lot of TV. I used to spend lots of time reading the newspaper. I used to spend more than an hour going through emails and forwarding some of them.
Good thing I listened to my coach. He told me to look into my appointments and be really frank with me if I am really spending my time the right way. So I said to myself, I wanna retire early so that I can spend more time with my family. I wanna have big savings so that I can provide to take my family on vacations. I wanna provide a good life for my family and I want my kids to pick any school they want and I would have no trouble sending them to school there.
When you realize your goal for doing this business, you would easily see that it far outweighs the luxury of being able to sleep 8 hours a day or spending hours watching the television. Also, how would watching plenty of TV help us become wealthy or better persons?
Are you really that busy? Or are you subconsciously giving more value to your luxury time than your bigger goals in life?
Changing your routines can be very hard. I had a hard time changing mine too. But day after day, I told myself why I was doing this. And day after day, that thought become more and more ingrained into my brain.
I know you can do it too. I hope you believe too. Because my friend, there is no time, but there is an ending.
