The Best Way to Slim Down? Get Started Walking.

There are many ways to fit walking into your everyday agenda. This is easy if you have a dog – simply take it for no less than 10 minute plus walk daily. 10 minutes may not feel like that long, but over the course of a month, or even a week, it adds up quickly. You can double this by just walking your dog two times per day. If you don’t live too far away from your office try walking there, or at least a portion of the way. Surely, no matter how far you live from your place of work, you can work something out to get some exercise on the way there. Walking for 30 minutes to work is doable, and if you walk to and from work you’ll be walking for an hour per day. If you use public transportation to get to work, you can try to walk to the next bus stop so that you do a little more walking in the day. Adding more walking into your day-to-day agenda is a cinch.

Walking is wonderful for your body and overall health. This is because walking is one of the most effective aerobic workouts. This means it’s not only good for your heart, but you’ll get rid of extra pounds too. Walking is usually done in a leisurely manner, so you won’t be putting stress on your joints too much, unlike running. My brother is extremely slim (but he eats a lot of junk food) and I asked him how he stays thin. He mentioned to me how much he walks each day, and it’s a lot more than I do. When he reminded me of that, everything all of a sudden added up. Walking is easy exercise, so there simply isn’t any good excuse for you to not walk.

You’re more likely to stick with your walking program if you just make it part of your everyday routine. Then, with a proper, nutritious diet, you’ll also begin slimming down as if by magic. You won’t have to be anxious about motivation, as walking is not all that vigorous, and you’ll be pleased at how much better you feel. The more often you walk, the more you’ll be inspired to walk . . . and the more quickly you’ll want to walk. This is fantastic; whenever you’re ready. Once you’re walking at a very good pace and feel ready, you might even try jogging. After that, you can do anything you want.

You won’t be able to find a really good excuse to not walk a short distance each day. No matter how busy you may be, you can certainly find 10 minutes here and there for a short walk. Another possibility is to join a gym and use their treadmills for a half hour or so daily.
